A private commission I painted back in 2009 (in black Indian, coloured inks and acrylics). The First Doctor has landed in Giza in the 1920s; stumbling upon an Egyptian artifact he unwittingly unleashes a powerful, ancient force..!
Marvelous artwork and coloring!
Excellent work as always. A much broader view than they could ever do on tv at the time. Lovely.
Yes, old Billy had some rich, historical settings (and some great scripts) you can only imagine where a bigger budget may have led them...
love the first doctor -hes totally ignored!
This is absolutely incredible. The detail is truly astounding and you've captured him perfectly.
Many thanks, I think he may be making a few appearances himself later this year!
i like it.
Good stuff, wasn't that the name of a Davison Missing Adventure?
I believe it was, yes. The client chose the name (which I thought was very fitting and better than mine - THE QUEEN OF GOLDEN DEATH in homage to a text story in the 1967 Patrick Troughton DOCTOR WHO Annual THE KING OF GOLDEN DEATH - not too original of me!)
Great work, i love it.
